It seems like a lot of people are interested in these compact air mattresses for backpacking/hiking camping trips. That's not our primary use case. We go on long camping trips(burns) in different states a few times a year. And we fly there. After borrowing equipment from people at the destination a few times we decided to get our own gear that we could easily carry with us on the plane. It fits into a checked bag along with our tent, sleeping bag, blankets, pillows, yeti hopper(cooler), water heater, mountain house bags and soylent + bars. Then we carry another smaller bag with our clothes in it. We buy water on the way to the camp site after we land. When it arrived in the mail I immediately opened it and tried it out on my apartment's concrete slab floor. The bag pump is a cool design. I don't remember how many bags full of air it actually took to air it up, but it wasn't enough to be a pain. I laid on it in all the different positions I sleep in. Then my wife and I laid on it. It works. It's comfy enough. And it's so much smaller and lighter than typical air mattresses. And you don't have to worry about powering an air compressor out in the woods. With a comforter laid over it it's even more comfy. We take a comforter or two instead of sleeping bags.So far I've only taken it on one trip. A four day camping trip in east Texas woods. It wasn't a prepared site so the ground had holes and lumps. Just a random patch of forest. We got out to the site and set up our tent and then started setting up the klymit mattress. I must have squeezed 20 bags into it and it just wasn't inflating. After getting worried I started checking for leaks. Turns out I left the deflate valve open. So I closed the valve. 10 or 15 bag pumps later and it was ready to go. Later that night we went to bed and it was pretty good. Miles ahead of sleeping on the ground, even in a sleeping bag. And almost as comfortable as the bigger home air mattresses that are over a foot tall and weight a lot.We woke up on the ground. It was almost completely deflated. I checked it out for leaks again and then double checked the deflate valve. I just pushed it to, I hadn't fully sealed it. So i pressed it in hard and it kinda clicked and then wouldn't go any further. Then I pumped it back up. After that we had two nights of no complaints sleep on a mattress that folds up small enough to fit in my purse. If you need a tiny and light, but also comfortable mattress this one will do the job. Make sure the deflate valve is fully closed before trying to inflate it though.I've been using this double mattress on top of my firm foam mattress in my home now for over three months. I put it under my mattress pad to try it out on my queen size mattress so I could see if it would work traveling, or for people who think my beds might be too firm at my house Airbnb. I never took it off! It's big enough to work on a queen size mattress, for only one person, even though it's really a double, and has taken care of my endless search for the perfect night's sleep! I have to blow it one or two good breaths once or twice a week, usually only once. I couldn't figure out the bag inflation thing, but it only took about ten minutes to blow it up myself. It's got a self sealing inlet, which is a bit better than the single Lux version I also have for traveling, so it only took a small bit longer to blow up on my own. The length is a bit short on my mattress so I keep the bottom good and the short end under my pillows which works just fine. It's sturdy, my cat likes it and it hasn't shown any wear or tear after three months of continuous use. I'm in my early 60's and used to tent camp a lot and had this been available I would greatly prefer it to the thermarest mattresses I used to use with my husband. A bit bulkier and heavier than the single version for backpacking, but it would be well worth the carry since it' still very compact. This feels the same on the bed as on the floor and I have to say it's just perfect for my aching body. Haven't had such a good night's sleep in years. Quite the surprise since people pay crazy money for beds that aren't anywhere near as comfy as this baby! If it gives up, it's still very affordable to replace, and I'm getting another one just to have a spare for guests. I've always slept on firm polyurethane foam, 4-6" thick and this beats that by a mile. You can make it as hard or soft as you like. The V shape really adds an enormous amount of additional comfort to my body when I sleep. I can't say enough about this mattress. I have also used the Klymit stadium pillows and like them as well as the Lux single mattress which I will be traveling with on my many adventures. Sure beats a crappy mattress at an Airbnb or sleeping on an older style blow up mattress at my Son's house:). This mattress is just a bit big to travel with for me with carry on but with one checked bag it could be worth it. Perfect for couples camping. Couldn't ask for more. I highly recommend.A great option for backpacking couples. My wife and I backpack about twice a month in northern California for the better part three seasons a year. We mix it up in between Hammocks/tents. I prefer a hammock and she's a little more traditional and likes a tent. I never wake up after sleeping on a foam pad and say "wow I love that pad". But folks I'm here to tell you the first two nights sleeping with this mattress I actually woke up in the morning and said "I love this new bed".All in all my only things that I could count as negatives are 1) it's a little heavy if you used to ultralight equipment. 2) it does take more effort to fill it up with air than a lead you on to believe, not a lot more, just more. And lastly i'm not sure what they meant when they said "Body-mapped V chamber design limits air movement to keep your tossing and turning from ruining your partner's sleep" Because it shares the same airspace throughout the whole mattress and if you move on one side you can still fill it on the other side. again, not a lot, just some. But still it's A great option for backpacking couples! It fits very well in our MSR nook 2 tent.My mattress has a fault in glue stitch as seen on picture. Sadly, I had an impression that such an expensive item should be of good quality and never properly tested it before going camping. As warranty period passed (yeah, yeah, I didn't go hiking with a tent for a couple of years) I was not able to get a refund nor from manufaturer or Amazon. As a matter of fact, manufacturer didn't even respond. Please check your product straight away and check it with your own weight, as faults in glue stitches can only show themselves when under pressure. Such a disappointment for me.So far tried only indoors, but seems like a good quality mattress - no leaks after the third night, no annoying noise or water bed effect when moving. Super comfortable to sleep on. Very small, handy and easy to store/ carry when defleted and put into the bag. When inflated seems to be perfect for 2 avarge size adults . The only downside is pumping with the bag- takes much more than 10 pumps, as suggested by the manufacturer. Luckily our electric pump fits into the valve (with no attachments). Was so excited to try this out, having heard that the mat was really good. We have been back packing around New Zealand for a month, 4 days camping, one day in a hostel. After only one night of use, the mat started going down after around 3 hours, which means every 3 hours you are woken by the hard ground and have to pump it back up. We checked it thoroughly for punctures but could find nothing.I think this is just a typical flaw in blow ups, and will avoid them in the future.A real shame as when fully inflated, the mat was everything it boasted. Will be contacting the seller on our return home.the mattress develops punctures where the top layer and he bottom layer are glowed together, you can NOT even fix this spots with the repair kit as air will escape from the fabric layer. indeed very disappointed as i had high hopes for it. it lasted about 10 times. We took this with us wild camping round Scotland. It was quick and easy to put up, I like the bag technique more than my partner does though. It was big enough for me, my partner, who is a big broad man and our rottweiler. It's strong material and put up with our dog claws and the rocky ground. It was really comfortable and even though we're very different sized people neither of us were rolled off or touching the floor. It's really light and east to roll back up to make it compact so it fits in your rucksack easily.
