It was rolled up but upon unrolling it it laid flat on my desk. I was able to use it immediately. They call it brown but it is more actually like a burnt orange. But it looks good on my desk so no big dealThis desk protector is perfect! It's really high quality. Does not feel cheap at all and stays flat. We bought it because our really cute, modern, gray, BDI desktop started to get scratched (really expected more from BDI). The color matches perfectly so the look of the desk is maintained.the mat is fine and very sturdy. But the "brown" color is actually a very light tan.This fit my desk perfectly. It protects the wood and turns my entire desk surface in to a giant mouse pad.Love this. I have a hand made wooden top desk that was hard to write on. This leather mat makes my desk perfect. I love this mat. It is well made and looks great. I purchased the larger one to cover a bigger area. Modern, traditional, transitional. We wanted a huge desk pad that didn’t take away from our glass desk- this fit perfectly and didn’t bring the ‘look’ of the desk down.The mat took my desk from a harsh black and white into a softer neutral aesthetic (see the before and after photos). I had read some of the reviews about the corners of these mats curling before I purchased the mat, but I used mines to cover a cheap ikea desk so I was happy to use double sided sticky tape to secure my mat in place. However, I appreciate that if you have a solid wood or varnished desk then you're probably not going to want to use double sided tape on it. Overall I am very pleased with the look and quality of the mat. It almost covers my desktop and has given my desk a complete revamp. It's much nicer looking down at the bright beige than the black acrylic cover I had before. The leather has a grain to it, so it looks like (and feels like) expensive leather.I bought this to replace a desk blotter, mouse mat and mug coaster. The larger size is ideal as it covers my work surface edge to edge - which is why I bought the larger size. The surface can be wiped clean / cleaned easily, and is giving enough for writing on paper with a fountain pen. All in all I am really pleased with this productCan easily be marked due to the cream colour, need to be very careful. Quality is okFantastic! Can't complain at all. Had it go a good few months and looks as good as the day I got it. Be careful with pen because it will leave a permanent mark though. It came with a nice bag (haven't needed but nice touch) and flattened out really well in a day or two. Works great as a mouse pad as well as a place to write so can't complain there either.It does look good, but will not lie flat at the egdes - which is infuriating.Not worth the price paid
